Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 May 1972

Mrs. Evelyn Jean Ackley, 54, of Woodland, died Sunday evening at Blodgett 
Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born in Woodland, May 1, 1917, she was the 
daughter of Samuel and Daisy Long McClelland.  December 12, 1936, she was 
married to Kenneth H. Ackley of Nashville.  She was a nurses aide working at 
nursing homes in the Lake Odessa area.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Makley of 
Woodland and Mrs. Ronald Fowler of Nashville; three sons, Marvin McClelland of 
Lansing, Gary of Hastings and Eldon at home; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, 
Mrs. Dorothy Sheldon, Mrs. Florence Comp and Mrs. Phyllis Wellfare of Hastings, 
Mrs. Hobart Clark of Portland and Mrs. Margaret Smith of Charlotte; three 
brothers, Gerald McClelland of Lake Odessa, Maynard of Hastings and Danon of 
Woodland.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel at 
Lake Odessa.  Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
