February 3, 2024 ADAIR Kenneth Dean Adair, age 79 of Ionia passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of January 25, 2024. He was born August 18, 1944, in Ionia,Michigan to Max and Mildred (Krause) Adair. At 17 years old, Ken joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1961-1968. He was stationed in Germany. Ken worked at TRW in Portland, Michigan for nearly 35 years in a varity of roles including crane operator - one of many skills and trade he learned while in the U.S. Army. Upon retirement he enjoyed many activities, including doing home renovation projects - famous for saying "trim will cover it" as a solution fishing, hunting, woodworking, small engine repair, and just tinkering in the garage. And he was always on the hunt for his next "treasure" at local yard sales.Ken was known for his witty sense of humor, stubbornness, long prayers, and willingness to help anyone in need. Church, Faith and Love of God played an important part of Ken's life. many dear friendships were formed - and have remained strong to this day - while attending Lyons Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Sebewa. Over the years, Ken served as deacon and worked as Awana and youth group leaders.He was a Godly husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend to so many. Ken is survived by his wife of 56 years Esther, and 3 children and their spouses, James and Melissa (Adair)Christopher and Michelle Adair, Jerry and Kim (Adair) Owsinski. His sister; Mary Lindsley. And his 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services was at the Lake Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 12 P.M. with Pastor Greg Mattson officiating. Visitation was on Wednesday from 10 AM until Noon, prior to the service.
