Ionia Daily Sentinel, 20 Feb 1899

Hazel Adams, a twelve years old girl who has been an inmate of the county house 
since she was a baby, died on Sunday.  She was paralyzed, supposedly from efforts 
of her mother to make way with her.  The mother finally abandoned her, and the 
poor authorities were obliged to take care of her.
