Harry Adams Is Killed In Crash West Of City. Driver Is Injured. Funeral was held Monday for Harry A. Adams, of Ionia, who was killed early Friday morning in an automobile accident on the river road west of the Michigan Reformatory. The services were conducted by Rev. M.W. Duffy at the Rice street home. Burial was in the Muir cemetery. Mr. Adams who was a manager for the Stebbins Ice Cream company was killed when an automobile in which he was returning home slipped off the highway and crashed into a roadside tree. It was being driven by Fred LeValley, also of Ionia. The men were extricated from the wreck by Lieutenant Governor Allen E. Stebbins and his son, Leland, who happened by shortly afterward. They were returning from a home in the western part of the county where they had been called to make arrangements for a funeral to be conducted by the Stebbins Undertaking Home. Third Tragedy For Wife. Adams died as they were rushing him to the Ionia Community hospital. He was 49. A coroner’s jury summoned later learned that he had suffered a fractured skull. LeValley was treated for severe shock and cuts. The accident was the third to bring tragedy to Mrs. Adams. A husband by a previous marriage died a number of years ago when he was accidentally shot. Their son was later killed in a gas blast in Grand Rapids.
