A resident of Orleans 44 years, she was born March 17, 1874 in Ronald township, near Palo. She was the daughter of Emily and George Adams. Miss Adams attended Olivet college and teachers college at Ypsilanti and took her teacher’s training in Ypsilanti schools before returning to teach in many Ionia and Montcalm county schools. She taught school in Palo and two years at Carson City as a music teacher, majoring on the violin. She also taught in primary grades in Orleans three years before her retirement. Miss Adams was a charter member of Orleans Literary and Art club, a member of Orleans Methodist church and WSCS, and of the extension club of Orleans for many years. She was a member of Orleans Woman’s Christian Temperance Union until it was discontinued. Miss Adams was interested in art and enjoyed reading and concert music. For several years she gave violin lessons and played in orchestras at different halls and churches in the area. She was a correspondent many years of The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard and several other newspapers of the area. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. John (Lenna) Pettit of Fenwick, and several cousins. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m., at Stebbins funeral home and Sheridan with interment at Palo cemetery.
