Adams died at his home in Keene, Saturday, Sept. 21, after a lingering illness at the age of 69 years. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in this village, conducted by the G.A.R. society of which he was a member, Rev. Jas. Provan preaching the sermon and the remains were interred in the village cemetery. Mr. Adams was born in West. Bloomfield, N.Y., March 26, 1826, removed to Michigan and settled in the town of Grattan in his 18th year. In ’52 he went to California returning in ’54 and in the same year was married to Martha Perry of Baltimore, Barry County. In ’62 he enlisted in the army where he served until the close of the war. After returning home he with his wife settled on the Keene farm, where they have since resided. The wife and four of the six children born to them, Mrs. Westbrook of Campbell township, Mrs. Wilson of Northplains, and Grant and Earl of Keene, survived to mourn the loss of their husband and father.
