W. R. Adams, 76, of Mecosta, father of Mrs. Glenn Coon, W. F. Adams, and Mrs. 
Robert Skillen, of Ionia and Mrs. James McCue of Lyons, died Sunday at his home 
in Mecosta of an illness that began shortly before Thanksgiving. Mrs. Adams 
died three years ago. Other surviving children are John Adams of Vermontville; 
Mrs. Nora Rose, of Hastings; Gordon Adams, of Racine, Wis.; Carl Adams, Warren 
Adams and Mrs. Ezoa Boros, of Mecosta. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. M.J. 
Green, of Sylvester, and a brother, Peter Adams, of Rindey, Alberta, Canada.

Mr. Adams was the son of Sylvester Adams, after whom the little town of 
Sylvester was named. He was born in New York, his parents moving to Mecosta 
county when he was a small child and where he has always resided. He had been a 
farmer all of his life.

The funeral services will be conducted from the Mecosta Methodist Episcopal 
church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock The burial will be in the Mecosta 
cemetery.
