The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, August 14, 1953


Funeral services for Donald Patrick Adams, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams 
of Hill street, who was fatally injured in an accident Monday  night, August 
10, were conducted by the Rev. George L. Rentschler, pastor of the First 
Presbyterian church, at Myers funeral home Friday morning.

In charge of flowers were Mrs. Irving Grove and Miss Lodaine Bigger.  
Attending the services in a group were the employees of the Ionia Daily 
Sentinel-Standard where Don was employed.

Bearers were Roy Troxel, Thomas McArdle, John Chiello, Eustace Plantamura, 
Bruce Bollinger and John Shattuck, all members of the K. of C. Softball team 
for which the deceased was a pitcher.  Burial was in Balcom cemetery.

Among the relatives attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Glen 
Coon of Mason; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Boroff of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Roger R. 
Adams and Claude E. Bennett of Chicago; Louis Karavetsos and Miss Dorothy 
Sawosko of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. George T. Weiss of Erie, PA; Mr. and 
Mrs. Frank G. Cordova of Spring Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Watney of New York 
City; Mrs. Ezoa Boroff, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams and Mrs. Ida McCue of Mecosta; 
Miss Karen London, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Adams, Mrs. Carl Adams, William Adams, 
and Carl Adams, Jr.; of Rodney; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Lovejoy of Danville, Ill.; 
Mrs. Winifred L. McConnell of Urbana, Ill.; and James Adams of Ft. Knox, Ky.
