She was born in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Dr. Frank F. Pray and Lera Arthur Pray. She attended school in Jackson and Michigan Normal in Ypsilanti before becoming a school teacher. She and her first husband, Erwin Foster, lived in Plymouth where she taught in a nearby country school After moving to Orlando, Fla, she also taught school and was recognized with "The Most Valuable Teacher of the Year" award on one occasion. Her great-grandfather built a home on the Plymouth, Ann Arbor Road, a way- tavern on the Detroit-Chicago horse route. It was a two-story brick home with a stone monument in the front yard, depicting a bronze plaque. His son George Washington Pray was in the first graduating class at the University of Michigan. Later, he was a doctor in Ionia county as was his son, Frank Pray. Mary enjoyed water color painting, collecting antiques and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband, two sons a stepson, two sisters and a stepsister and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents and a stepmother, Gladys Lathrup Pray, and a sister, Margaret Pray Olson of Houston, Tex. She is being interred int eh Woodard Lake Cemetery in Ionia County.
