Adgate, 77, a lifelong resident of Ionia county, died at his home in Berlin township quite suddenly Saturday afternoon. Mr. Adgate had been in poor health for some time, but his death came unexpectedly. He ate dinner at noon Saturday with the members of his family, and about an hour later was taken ill. His death occurred at 3:30. Mr. Adgate was born in Ionia township February 22, 1850, and for more than 45 years had lived on the same farm in Berlin township where his death occurred. He had always been active in politics, and was active in the democratic party. Besides his widow he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dan Pattrick, of Berlin township; a half-sister, Mrs. Milo Adgate, of Berlin township; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The funeral services will be held from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Arthur, of Ann Arbor, for many years a friend of the family, will officiate. Burial will be made in the family lot at Balcom cemetery.
