Adgate, 91, Ionia county resident for many years, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at the home of her son, William Maurice, in Bethesda, Maryland. Mrs. Adgate, widow of Frank Adgate, lived for 25 years in Orange township until her husband’s retirement about 25 years ago when they moved to Portland. He died January 19, 1943. About two years ago she moved to Washington, D. C., to make her home with her sister. After being injured in a fall last November, her health failed and a short time ago she was taken to her son’s home to be cared for. Mrs. Adgate was a former Portland resident. Surviving besides the sister are two sons, William M. of Bethesda, Maryland, and Elmer A. of Lyons; 10 grandchildren; and three grandchildren. The body will arrive in Portland Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Neller funeral home in Portland. The Rev. Lowell McCarty, pastor of the Portland Congregational church, will officiate. Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.
