Adgate aged 71 of Ionia, passed away May 15, 2006. He was born July 29, 1934 in Berlin Township, the son of Max and Noma (Rickert) Adgate. He graduated from Saranac High School in 1952. He worked at Mitchell Bentley in Ionia until joining the Army in 1953. After completing basic training he was sent to Germany where he remained until his discharge. He married Marilyn Sprague in 1959. He went to barber school in Flint and worked at his trade in Ionia, Mulliken and Lake Odessa. He then went on to join his wife in their restaurant business in Lake Odessa until they sold it due to his wife's illness. He also worked at Meijer in Ionia for 10 years until he retired due to his health. Brent was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved to be around people telling his many jokes. He will be missed by his many friends and family. Brenton is survived by son Theodore and Brenda Adgate of Hastings; daughters, Brenda and Steven Leland of Florida, and Dawn Jackson of Ionia; brother Rodney and Lorene Adgate of Ionia; sister in law Delores and Tom Church of Florida; grandchildren Nicholas Leland, Kayla Leland and Christopher Jackson as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his lovely wife Marilyn, his parents and brother Bruce. Memorial services will be held at noon, Saturday at Balcom Cemetery.
