Lorene E. Adgate age 75, of Ionia passed away due to accidental drowning, 
October 1, 2006 in Sunfield Twp.  She was born December 28, 1930 in Ionia the 
daughter of Amos and Ruth (Peabody) Stanton.  She graduated from Ionia High 
School in 1948 where she was voted miss school spirit of 1948.  Lorene married 
Rodney Adgate October 15, 1948 in Ionia.  She sold Avon for many years.  She 
was very sports minded and loved watching her family play.

Lorene is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Rodney Adgate of Ionia; 
children Craig and Sharon Adgate of Saranac, Linda and Arthur Briseno of Lake 
Odessa, Kim and Sharon Adgate of Florida, Theresa Southwell of Lowell, William 
Adgate and special friend Jennifer of Virginia, Kelly and Jerry Schray of 
Woodland, Max Adgate and partner Tom Klann of Caledonia; brother Wayne and 
Sonia Stanton of Ionia; grandchildren Alisha, Ryan, Lance, Jessi, Levi, Erin, 
Seth, Jeremiah, Marhetta, Laura, Melissa, Hannah, Caleb, Jacqie and five great 
grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. George Speas officiating. Interment in Balcom Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends and relatives Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral 
home. Anyone wishing to make memorial contributions to Rheumatoid Arthritis 
Association.
