He was born in Berlin Township Dec. 3, 1907, the son of Philo and Georgia Hall Adgate. He owned and operated Adgate’s Grocery and Meat store in Saranac from 1934 to 1970. Surviving are his wife, Blanche (Sis); a son, Alan of Missouri; two daughters, Colette Cole of Fenwick and Mrs. Albert (Jane) Chun of Honolulu; and six grandchildren. One brother, Max, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Saranac Community Church, with the Rev. Kendall Harger officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will be at Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Saranac Fire Department.
