Adgate, 75, of 45 David highway, Saranac, died Wednesday evening at the Blodgett Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids following an extended illness. Born in Boston township January 29, 1899, she was the daughter of Asa and Harriett Poole. June 26, 1920, she was married to John L. Adgate. She was a graduate of the Ionia county normal and attended the Central Michigan college at Mt. Pleasant. She taught school in the Saranac area two years. She was active in the Saranac community in which she had lived her entire life She was a member of the Saranac Community church, a 54 year member of the American Legion auxiliary, past president of the Literary club and member of the board of the Ionia County Red Cross 25 years. Besides her husband, John, she leaves three sons, Roger E. of Valparaiso, Ind., J. Bernard of Saranac and Loren C. of Ionia; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Maybel Sherwood and Mrs. Mildred Sherwood of Ionia and Mrs. Evelyn Jepson of Saranac; brother, Victor L. Poole of Saranac. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Saranac Community church. Rev. Edwin Mendenhall will officiate and interment will be at the Saranac cemetery.
