Adgate, an old and highly esteemed resident of Berlin township, and a pioneer of the county, died on Sunday, at the age of 79 years, of pneumonia. His residence in the county dates way back to the later fifties, coming west from the state of New York. The aged wife of Mr. Adgate survives him, as do also four children, Mrs. Phena Carpenter, of Ionia city, Supervisor Homer L. Adgate, of Berlin township, and Miss Sylvia Adgate and Mrs. Milo Adgate, also of the home township. Funeral on Wednesday, March 21, from the late home, and interment in Balcom cemetery. Deceased was a semi-invalid the last six years of his life, though a hard and sturdy worker up to the time of his physical failure.
