Ruby D. (Mincks) Aikens, 78, of Ionia, passed away Aug. 28, 2013 in Ionia. She 
was born Oct. 27, 1934 in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Clifford and Alice 
(Shields) Mincks.

Ruby married Gerald Aikens on Aug. 4, 1950 in Ionia. He passed away Aug. 20, 
2012. She loved working in her yard.

Ruby is survived by her children, Jim (LeeAnn) Aikens of Orleans, Karen (Jim) 
Wood of Saranac, Gerald M. Aikens of Ionia, Freeman (Lee) Aikens of Belding and 
Quentin (Dawn) Aikens of Alto; five brothers; four sisters, 16 grandchildren; 
and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Aikens; parents, Clifford and 
Alice Mincks; and grandson, Travis.

Per Ruby's request, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be 
held. Memorial contributions may be made to her family. Online condolences may
