He had walked about the farm during the afternoon and apparently was in good health, but as he was about to enter his home shortly after six o’clock he fell to the ground and died within a few minutes. Funeral services will be held at nine a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Trinity church at Alpine. Interment in Alpine cemetery. Mr. Albert was one of the pioneer residents of Ionia and Kent counties, He was born in Otisco, Ionia county. In 1909 he was elected to the board of supervisors of Kent county on the democratic ticket. He was appointed keeper of the poor farm in April 1913. Besides his widow, a son, Ernest, of Alpine; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Waters of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Charles Albert of Chesaning, Joseph Albert of Otisco, Fred Albert of Wisconsin; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Platty of Alpine, survive. – Grand Rapids News Many of our residents will remember Mr. Albert, as he lived for a long time in the German settlement, south of the city. His father was one of the earliest pioneers to settle in this section of the country and Mr. Albert, together with the rest of the family helped to clear and till the land upon which his brother, Joseph Albert, now resides, that being the old Albert homestead.
