Larry was born April 24, 1948 in Greenville the son of Leo and Virginia Doran Albert. Larry graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1966 and was a press operator at Electrolux in Greenville retiring in 2007 after 25 years of service. Larry proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War being stationed in Japan and Thailand. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the VFW Post 4406 of Belding. He also farmed the Albert Family farm for many years. Larry enjoyed gardening, golf, photography and watching and feeding all sorts of birds. In earlier years he was on many area softball teams and pool leagues. Larry enjoyed working with wood and was very talented at it. His greatest love was his wife and children and the time they spent together. He was married on June 9, 1979 at St. Mary’s to Olga Harrison and she survives along with their children, Jasen Lee Albert of Belding and Tori Anne Albert and Patrick Millard of Grand Rapids, his peacock, Henry and his dog, Cricket. Larry is also survived by his mother, Virginia Albert of Belding; Anne (Gerry) Magers of Trufant, Peggy (Tim) Wood of Belding, Jane (Ron) French of Hessel, Betty (Mike) Springsteen of Sault Ste. Marie, Leo (Nancy) Albert of Stanton, Phillip (Sue) Albert of Belding; many nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Celeste (Emil) Domeyer of Alma and many long time friends in the Belding Area. He was preceded by his father; one brother Steven Albert and his father-in-law, Hilton Harrison. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Fr. Fred Brucker presiding. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday with a rosary prayed at 7:30 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Church, St. Mary Church, American Cancer Society and National Geographic Society.
