Albert, 86, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, September 13, 2004, at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus, Long Term Care Unit, Greenville. The daughter of John and Flavie Cormier Cyr, she was born March 8, 1918 in Grand Isle, Maine. On October 29, 1934, in Grand Isle, she married Alphonse Albert. Blanche had worked as a nurse’s aide at the former United Memorial Hospital and Ore-Ida Foods plant and was a member of St. Charles Catholic church. She was known as “Nanny” to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other “little” friends. She loved to cook, knit and play cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Albert on September 8, 1985, 13 brothers and sisters, four brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. She is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Alphonsine “Al” and Gene Beckler of Greenville, Nancy and Bill Baker of Peoria, Ill., Ruth and Dale Wanink of Belding, Virginia “Ginny” and Jessie Seward of Sheridan; 13 grandchildren, John and Lynn Beckler of the Marshall Islands, Gene and Sharyl Beckler of Anderson, S.C., Judy Beckler of Greenville, David Beckler of Stanton, Keith and Dusty Baker of East Peoria, Ill., Kevin and Cindy Baker of Shereville, Ind., Kenny Baker of Peoria, Ill., Allen and Wendy Gladding, Brian and Sue Gladding, all of Greenville, Kim Gladding and her fiancé’ Steve Croff of Belding, Lisa Gale and her friend Joe of Sheridan, Tamara Fisher and her friend Todd of Saranac, Michael and Toni Courter of Sheridan; 25 great- grandchildren; sister, Catherine Sirois of Grand Isle, Maine; adopted daughter, Mary McMeeken and her family of Belding; several siblings-in-law; and many nieces and nephews, and cousins. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Father Phil Salmonowicz officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, with a rosary prayer service beginning at 8:30 p.m. For those planning a memorial tribute, the family suggests contributions to the Patient Activities Fund Long Term Care Unit at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus, Greenville.
