Mertie Albrechtsen, 90, a longtime resident of Belding, passed away Wednesday
morning, Sept. 13, 2006, at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus,
Greenville.  She was born on Oct. 7, 1915, in Greenville, the daughter of
Charles and Julia Ernst Jensen.

Mertie was married in August 1946 to Paul Albrechtsen.  During her working years
she worked at Ditmars Bakery and Salzman Cleaners in Belding and for Ionia
Cleaners.  She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding.  She was a
kind and loving mom and grandma and will be greatly missed.

Mertie was preceded by her parents, her husband, Paul; daughter, Alice Herald;
and two brothers, Chester Jensen and Oscar “Don” Jensen.  She is survived by her
children and their spouses,  Dave and Dena Albrechtsen of Lakeview, Linda and
Henry Kreft of Greenville, Charlie and Rise Jensen of Tennessee; grandchildren,
Paul Albrechtsen, Beth Albrechtsen and fiancé Derrick Cook, Susan Kreft, Brian
Kreft, Tammy Bakes, Ed Herald, Jackie Herald, Kevin Bissell, Michelle and
Sabastian Peak; and one great grandchild; Lillyann Mertie Cook.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Belding,
with Pastor Jeff Wilhelm of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Greenville,
officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  The
family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorial contributions may be given
to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
