Rick L. Alcalar, age 36, of Ionia, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2006 
into the arms of Jesus. He was born July 9, 1970 in Ionia the son Augie and 
Judy Alcalar.

Rick was a member of Resurrection Life Church in Ionia. He enjoyed mountain 
biking, loved his family and his God.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Michael Wood, uncle Fred 
Cooper, and his grandparents Stanley and Mary Cooper.  He is survived by his 
wife, Julie; children Austin and Kendell; parents Augie Alcalar of Ionia and 
Judy Alcalar of Muir; grandfather Augustine Alcalar, Sr. of Ionia; sister 
Angie (John) Cory of Ionia; mother-in-law Leslie (Ken) Frank of Kentucky; 
brother-in-laws Dave (Paula) Wood of Ionia, Jim (Colleen) Wood of Ionia, and 
Mike (Andrea) Wood of Saranac; sister-in-laws Kathy (Eric) Letts of Ionia and 
Laurie (Kristopher) Russo of Ionia as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, 
uncles, cousins and friends.

Religious Services will be conducted by Pastor John Prominski at 11 a.m., 
Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Resurrection Life Church, 426 W. Main St., Ionia. 
Internment will be Balcom Cemetery, Ionia. The family will recieve visitors 
from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 
220 Rich St., Ionia.
