Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Aug 1980

Maude Alderink, 103, of Grand Rapids died July 25 at Sherbrooke Nursing Home,
where she had been a resident for three years.  She was born March 26, 1877, in
Kent County and lived in Antrim and Mason counties before moving to Clarksville
in 1890.

She married Benjamin Alderink in 1897 and they lived in that area until 1935,
when they moved to Bowne Center.  They moved to Grand Rapids in 1963, and he
died in 1977 at the age of 100.

Survivors include two daughters, Irene Morris of Lake Odessa and Anna Meyers of
Clarksville; two sons, Harold of Clarksville and Merton of Grand Rapids; 11
grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  One
son, Clare, died in 1970.

Services were July 28 with the Rev. Richard Erdmare officiating.  Burial was in
the Bowne Cemetery.
