Alderman, 77, died last Wednesday night April 26th at the home of his niece, Mrs. Lee Bartlett, 552 Ionia street, following an illness of about ten weeks. He was born in Ionia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Alderman. He became a surveyor in his early life, following in the steps of his father, who had surveyed the city of Belding and for whom Alderman street here was named. He still had his father’s surveying instruments which were very old. Wm. Alderman had lived with his niece here the last 8 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Martin Blackmer and Miss Dorothy Alderman of Detroit; a son, Herold, of Smith’s Creek, and a brother, Frank, of Manton; two grandchildren and ten nieces and nephews.
