Aldrich, of Berlin township, passed away Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. She was born in Ontario Nov. 2nd, 1842, the daughter of William and Louisa Bennett, and was one of a family of ten children. She is survived by one brother, living in Iowa, and one sister in New York. She came with her parents to Ionia county, Mich., while quite young and was a teacher in the public schools before her marriage to Orrin E. Aldrich in 1870, since then living on the farm at Berlin Center, where Mr. Aldrich was born and always lived, until his death four years ago, at the age of 73. After his death she made her home with her sons, S. H. and George F. Aldrich, of Berlin, her death occurring at the home of her eldest son, S. H. Aldrich, on the old farm where she lived so many years. The funeral was held at the Methodist church at Berlin Center, where she had been a member nearly forty years, at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12th. The sermon was by the pastor, Rev. E. L. Sutliff, and the music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Adgate. Burial took place at the Balcom cemetery.
