An Ionia county deputy sheriff and Coroner Harry Myers said Aldrich took his own life with a 16-gauge shotgun. A neighbor, Mrs. Evelyn Lake, heard the shot and summoned the officers. Myers said despondency is believed to have caused the shooting. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jennie Moore, of Maple Rapids; and his wife, Marian, of Ovid; five children, Mary, William, Norman, Arthur and Wanda.
