Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 Feb 1966

Mrs. Costenza Alfonso, 66, wife of Vito Alfonso of 322 North Dexter street, died
at her home about 5 o’clock Monday afternoon.  She had been ill since August of
1952.  Mrs. Alfonso was born in Sannicanero-Bari, Italy August 23, 1899 and came
to United States following her marriage in 1922.  The family lived the past 43
years in Ionia and had resided at the present home since 1953.  She was a member
of SS. Peter and Paul church.

Surviving besides her husband, Vito, are a daughter, Mrs. Nina Dituri of Long
Island, N.Y.; two sons, Frank Alfonso of Andover, Mass., and John of Traverse
City; two brothers Andrew Chimienti of Lansing and Vito of Italy; 13
grandchildren.  Rosary will be recited at Boynton Funeral home Wednesday at 7:30
p.m.  Funeral Mass will be at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church at 9 a.m.
Thursday with interment at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
