Richard F. Allarding of Reed City, formerly of Grand Ledge, died peacefully at 
his home on Nov. 16, 2012 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Lake 
Odessa on Jan. 20, 1932 and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elaine (Geasler); daughter Nancy 
(Dan) Chiesa; son Steve (Amy) Allarding; grandchildren, Jessica Bagley, Joshua 
and Sierra Chiesa, Amanda Allarding, and Joycelyn Prestler; two great 
grandchildren, Caleb and Mia; sister Elaine (Jack) Garnaat; and sister-in-laws 
Jeanne Allarding and Donna McCoy. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Faye and Eva Allarding and his brother 
Robert Allarding.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the United Methodist 
Church in Leroy with Pastor Scott Loomis officiating. A memorial donation may 
be made in his name to Hospice of Michigan or to the Veterans Association of 
America and envelopes will be available from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 
during visitation hours at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City.
