Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 Jul 1980

Mrs. Myrtle Allen, 95, formerly of 434 W. Grand River Ave. in Portland, died 
July 5, 1980 in Whitehall.  Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 22, 1884 in Orange 
Township, the daughter of Henry and Ella Townsend.  

Her husband George preceded her in death in 1964.  She is survived by two sons, 
Ivis (Jim) Allen of Sun City, Ariz. and Thomas Allen of Grand Ledge; two 
daughters, Mrs. Pauline Jennette of Bradenton, Fla. and Mrs. Georgia Green of 
Florence, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great-
great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Neller Funeral Home in 
Portland.  Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James 
Allen, Thomas Allen, Mark Allen, John Green, Matthew Green and John Marrison.
