Mr. Allen was taken with a heart spell as he drove his auto into a gas station in Tampa. A doctor was called and the man was returned to the house trailer which the family was occupying, where he passed away. Mrs. Allen was formerly Miss Margaret Guilford, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Guilford. There are also two daughters. The remains were returned to Portland in the Allen housecar, in which the family had intended to reside during their southern stay. Rev. John H. Stewart officiated at the funeral, which was held at the Bandfield chapel. Mr. Allen was a World war veteran and was accorded a military burial by comrades of Grand Ledge post, of which he was a member.
