Ionia Sentinel Standard, Oct 1995

Mary Caroline Allen, 70, of Ionia died Monday, Oct. 23, 1995 at Butterworth
Hospital in Grand Rapids.  She was born Oct. 1, 1925 in Stanton, the daughter of
Orin and Mildred (Moore) DeGroat.  She married Leo Allen Jr. on Dec. 25, 1943 in
Ionia.  She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Ionia.

Surviving are her husband Leo; son Dennis (Suzanne) Allen, of Ionia; daughters:
Carol (Ray) Grummet, Julie (Donald) Riger and Debra Allen, all of Ionia; sister
Retha Morrow, of Saranac; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.  She was
preceded in death by her daughter Cindy, great-grandson Timothy Allen Jr. and
one sister.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with
Rev. Kirk Starkweather officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  Memorial contributions may be
made to Family Choice.
