The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, June 22, 1896

Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Tapley, of this city, who were called to Saranac early last 
week by the death of Mrs. W. S. Allen, returned Saturday evening.  The 
deceased was a sister of Mrs. Tapley, Mrs. P. E. Broadbent, Mrs. C. Foreman 
and Miss Minnie Bovee, all of Ionia.  Mrs. Allen was ill but a week.  Among 
those from Ionia who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. Lane, Mr. and 
Mrs. C. R. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ellsworth, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Peasley.
