Duffey and Dr. Paul L. Stewart will conduct the services for Fred H. Allen, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home, 310 East Washington street, Mr. Allen for 25 years one of the outstanding businessmen of the city but retired for years, died Tuesday morning following weeks of poor health. ---------- Amid a wealth of flowers the casket of Fred H. Allen rested at the home Saturday afternoon while funeral services were being conducted by Dr. M.W. Duffey and Dr. Paul L. Stewart. The flowers were in charge of Mrs. J.E. Hood and Mrs. Lillian Ashdown Jennings. The member of Mrs. Allen’s Sunday school class of the Methodist Episcopal Church attended the services in a body. Following the services the casket was committed to Highland Park mausoleum. William Y. Templeton, F.O. Eldred, Merrill Jennings, Floyd Macklem, Wallace Haight, and Roy Weber served as bearers. Among those from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Huntley, of Cadillac; Mrs. Maude Pegg, of Kalamazoo; Mrs. Code Vahue and son, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Allen, Mrs. Jessie Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoyer, Mrs. William Charles and son, of Allegan; Miss Geraldine Clement, Miss Lucille Little, Mr. and Mrs. William Graham and Marie and Mildred, of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Graham and Mrs. Graham, of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. George Allen and Marion and Doris, of Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Clement, of Sheridan.
