Lake Odessa- William A. Allen, 74 died Saturday evening at Provincial House 
in Hastings, where he had been a patient for 10 months following an extended 
illness.

He was born October 23, 1900, in Berlin township, the son of Clifton and 
Clara Thomas Allen, and married Laura Lane, December 5, 1921. He had been a 
lifelong resident of Lake Odessa area retiring from farming before moving to 
their home in Lake Odessa in 1951.

Mr. Allen served as supervisor of Odessa township for two years; justice of 
the Peace in Berlin township for eight years; treasurer of the Durkee school 
board for eight years; field supervisor for the Lake Odessa Canning Co., for 
three years, and was a member of the board of directors of the Woodland Fire 
Insurance Co., for ten years. 

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Hamp; two sons, Roger and 
Paul, of Lake Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two 
sisters, Mrs. Erma Bache of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Irene Hamilton of Lake.

Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in 
Lake Odessa, with Rev. William Hertel officiating.

Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
