Dec. 22, 1930 HENRY ALLEN Henry Allen, 43, died suddenly at the Plaza hotel Sunday afternoon at 2:30 of heart disease with which he had been afflicted for several years. Interment will be made in Mt.Olivet cemetery. Mr. Allen was a World war veteran. He was born and reared in Ionia and since the closing of the ward had been employed by the Western Union Telephone company at Grand Rapids. A brother, Patrick William, survives. Mr. Allen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allen, residents of Ionia many years, who resided on Lafayette street near Morse. Henry Allen, the father, was known to as many Ionia's as any citizen that ever lived here, and the days before the automobile supplanted the horse, Mr. Allen conducted the Ionia Transfer company with which he served Ionia faithfully during many years.
