Ray Verne Allen, 88, of Morrison Lake, passed away July 17, 2003.  He was born 
June 25, 1915 in Isabella County the son of Herman and Lulu (Heckard) Allen.  
He would go on to marry Donna Dyke September 24, 1937 in Ionia.

Ray was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ionia where he was an 
Elder.  He was a member of the Saranac Lions Club.  He was the First President 
of Morrison Lake Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Donna of Morrison Lake; sons, 
Peter and Marcia Allen of Caledonia, Christopher and Nancy Allen of Long 
Beach, California; one daughter, Stephanie and George Zinn of Howard City; 
five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 
his parents.

Memorial services for Mr. Allen will be on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 2 p.m. 
at the First Presbyterian Church in Ionia, with Rev. Robert Nixon 
officiating.  There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to 
services.

Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia Area Hospice.
