The Portland Observer, Wednesday, June 15, 1898
Will H. Allen, brother of Dr. Geo. D. Allen of Portland, died at the old 
Gardner Allen homestead in Danby on Sunday night last, aged 35 years.  The 
cause of his death was malarial fever and heart trouble and he had been sick 
but about three weeks. 

Funeral services were conducted from the house at 2 o’clock Wednesday 
afternoon this week, and burial made in Danby cemetery by the Masonic lodge of 
Mulliken of which he was a member.
