For the past five years, since the death of her husband, she had resided at the Grieves farm on the Welch road. She was born in Ionia township, and received her education in Ionia and at Michigan Normal at Ypsilanti. Before her marriage to Elmer Allmendinger in September of 1916, she taught Ionia township and Ionia city schools and also taught schools in Detroit. Her married life was spent in Dearborn where she was a member of the Presbyterian church, and the DAR. While in Dearborn, she wrote a history of the Presbyterian church there. Surviving are two sons, Eugene Allmendinger of Portsmouth, N.H., and Jackson Allmendinger of Wayne; a sister, Miss Mary Grieves of Ionia; and a brother; Loren C. Grieves, sr., of Ionia; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Grieves farm home on Welch road, three miles northeast of Ionia. Dr. Paul Stewart will officiate with interment in Bethlehem cemetery at Ann Arbor.
