SERVICES HELD FOR JOHN B. ALMAN
John B. Alman, 88 years, died Saturday evening at Sunshine Hospital in Grand Rapids
following major surgery December 16th.

Mr. Alman, the son of the late Peter and Martha Kane Alman was born near Moline May
13th, 1878. He was a retired farmer and had spent most of his life in the Leighton
area.

He is survived by his wife, Effie; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, of Caledonia
and Mrs. Orley Bechtel of Clarksville; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The body reposed at the Pickens Funeral Chapel in Clarksville until Tuesday when it
was taken to the Leighton United Brethren Church for services at 2 o'clock. Rev. Gerald
Hephner of Clarksville officiated. Interment was in the Leighton cemetery.
