Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 5 Dec 1940

Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Alspaugh, 74, died at her home at 611 North Jackson street 
Wednesday afternoon following an illness of about three years.  

She was born the daughter of Robert and Marie Fleming in Ionia county on March 
10, 1866.  On October 3, 1883, she married James H. Alspaugh.  He died in 1933.

Surviving are four sons, Earl H., Robert J., Lloyd E. of Ionia and Melvin L. of 
Grand Rapids; three daughters, Ann Alspaugh and Mrs. Cassie Latimer of Ionia, 
and Mrs. Alice Aimek? of Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Watkins of Ionia, 
Mrs. Vernon Simmons of Berlin township, Mrs. H. G. Taylor of Grand Rapids, and 
one brother, G. B. Fleming of East Lansing.  Also nine grandchildren and two 
great grandchildren.  One daughter, Mrs. Isabel McNeilly, died in 1937.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7 from the Myers Funeral home 
at 2 p.m.  Prayer services for the immediate family will be held at the home 
preceding the service.  Rev. Frederick G. Dunbar of the Ionia Methodist church 
will officiate.  Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
