His age was 68, and he had been a resident of Ionia for thirty years. He saw service during the civil war, and was a member of W. H. Borden Post, who will have charge of the obsequies. For several years he was an officer of the State Reformatory and subsequently served the state as a member of the State asylum force. Later years, until his health failed, he was a farmer. He leaves a wife and two children, a son Lee, and a daughter, Miss Mabel. Mr. Alvord was the last member of Ionia lodge No. 33, A.O.U.W. Funeral from residence, 270 East Washington street, at 2:30 on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. G. Webster Moore. Interment Highland Park.
