Mrs. Harriett Ames, 55, died Monday evening at St. Lawrence hospital, Lansing, 
where she had been confined for five weeks suffering from a complication of 
diseases, chief among which was cancer.  Funeral services were held at the 
Methodist church this afternoon, in charge of Rev. Paul E. Carson.

Mrs. Ames was formerly Miss Harriett Atwell.  She was born in Danby township 
and had spent her entire lifetime in this vicinity.  In 1889 she was married to 
John Ames, who passed away 20 years ago.

She is survived by one daughter and six sons.  They are Mrs. Marjorie Reed, 
Grand Rapids; Lorenzo, Nelson and Harold Ames, Lansing, Forest, Saginaw, and 
Donald and Marion Ames, Portland.
