He was born in Lynn, Mass., the s on of John Theodore and Emily (Galien) Amriault, both of whom preceded him in death. Bob moved to Shirley, Mass., with his family while in his youth and attended school there. He joined the United States Army and served his country from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War. He married Phyllis Antcliff on July 31, 1982, in Belding and she survives. He worked as a Hi-Lo driver for Gibson Manufacturing and later for Electrolux retiring in 1988. Bob was always good for a joke or story and enjoyed time with family. He also loved to hunt and fish with his family and was a true patriot and a long-time member of the American legion. He loved his dear wife Phyllis and took great pride in caring for her and their home. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Phyllis (Antcliff) Amirault, of Belding, his children Robert G. Amirault of Mobile, Alabama, Theodore A. (Whitney) Amirault of Coopersville, Dennis (Nancy) Venneman of Belding, Julie (Darrell) Decker of Orleans, Tracy (Tim) Roundtree of Belding; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Albert Amirault, of Shirley, Massachusetts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, John Amirault, Joe Amirault, Norman Amirault, Marie Waiter, Betty Harwood and Janice Wentworth. A memorial service celebrating Robert's life will take place at noon Monday at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Military honors will be carried out by the Belding VFW Post Honor Guard. The family will greet visitors for an hour prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Robert's memory to the "B" Foundation, which supports cancer awareness and provides support to Belding area families affected by cancer.
