Death was believed due to a heart attack although his friends said he was apparently in good health. Mr. Ammon had spent the weekend at his cottage on Big Star Lake, near Baldwin, and returned to Grand Rapids, to return to his work, Monday. When he failed to appear and friends investigated, he was found, as above stated. Mr. Ammon was born in Iona, December 7, 1879, and was employed at the Hayes Body Shop for many years. About ten years ago he went to Grand Rapids to live and was employed as a wood worker in the Pere Marquette shops there. He is survived by three brothers, Robert of Ionia, William of Muir and John of Holt. Service was held from Myers Funeral Home at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon with burial in Highland Park cemetery.
