WM. O. AMPHLETT A telegram was received by Thomas L. Amphlett dated Columbia, Dakota, June 15th, brining the sorrowful intelligence that Mrs. Wm. O. Amphlett died there this morning. The remains will be brought to Ionia for burial. Mrs. Amphlett was a great favorite in Ionia society, and the sad news of her death will cause universal feeling of grief. The remains accompanied by the husband of the deceased reached Ionia on the 8 o'clock train this morning, and at 2 o'clock this afternoon brief service were held in the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. James Hamilton, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. C.L. Barnhart, presiding elder. There was a large attendance of citizens to testify to the esteem in which the deceased was held. The bearers were Allen S. Wright, H.A. Rich, Geo. Gundrum and G.P. Pickhaver. After the service at the church the remains were borne to their last resting place in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. McColgan of Akron, Ohio, father and mother of deceased were among the mourners present at the funeral.
