Mr. Amsden came to Lyons with his parents when a young man and was employed by his father in the woolen mill, and later was employed in Grand Rapids, returning to Lyons shortly after the woolen mills burned here and going into business with his father. He is best remembered in Lyons as a band leader, a number of local men having played under his leadership. Mr. Amsden fell on an icy porch at his home in Eaton Rapids over a year ago, and the trouble that later developed resulted in the loss of the leg. Since his injury he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Winters, in Jackson. The body was brought to Lyons Monday noon and funeral services were held that afternoon from the home of his sister, Mrs. J.H. Ruel, conducted by Rev. Chas Nease. Deceased was a life member of the Lyons Lodge F.& A.M., and the Masons had charge of the services at the cemetery. Those from away to attend the funeral were Dr. and Mrs. Geo. Winters, Jackson; a brother, Geo. Amsden of Monroe; a son, Bert Amsden, and a brother, Arthur Amsden of Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hartman and Mr. and Mrs. R.J.
