He was born July 17, 1938 in Gaylord the son of DeVine and Zola (Thomas) Andersen. He was a life long resident of south Ionia. He had a full and active life until recent years, due to chronic bronchial asthma that hindered his breathing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, bowling, mushrooming, his '55 Chevy and touring the US on his motorcycle with his wife Beverly (Litchfield) Andersen, whom he married October 24, 1959. He was a SP4 class in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 and stationed with the Hq Engineers 3rd Army attached to the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell, KY. He drove a Deuce and a half with water purifier along with being a supply clerk in charge of weapons. After he was discharged from the Army he hired in at Fisher Body, in Lansing. He worked in assembly as a relief man in the door/glass area until retiring April 1, 1993 after 30 years. He still remained faithful to his company as a member of his union Local 602. He is revered far and wide for his calming personality, common sense, and his outlook on life.
