The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 12, 1921

John P. Anderson, an old resident of Saranac, died at his home there Saturday 
evening.  At the time of his death Mr. Anderson was 84 years of age.  The 
funeral will be held at the Saranac Methodist Episcopal church Tuesday 
afternoon at 1:30.

Friends wishing to view the remains of John P. Anderson may do so at the 
residence in Saranac any time until 1 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.

Saranac, December 13, 1921.  Funeral services were held at the Methodist 
church this afternoon for John P. Anderson, eighty four, a veteran of the 
Civil war, a Lieutenant, Company H, Second Michigan Infantry, and for many 
years, a grocery and hardware merchant, who died following a years illness.  
Surviving are two sons, and a step son.  Interment in the local cemetery.
