Anderson, 68, died Friday morning, August 26, at 5:30 o’clock at his home in Berlin township. He has been in poor health for some time although somewhat active in his duties about his farm home. Thursday he was stricken with a heart attack while assisting with threshing. He was born September 15, 1869 in Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson. At the age of four, he came with his parents to Michigan and settled on a farm near Portland. December 21, 1920, he was married to Mrs. Etta Schilds and moved to Berlin Township where he has lived since. He has been employed for the Pere Marquette railroad as brakeman, conductor and had been in charge of the yards in Ionia. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walter Linbloom of Winslow, Arizona; a stepson, Herbert R. Schilds of Grand Rapids; two half brothers, John Fitzpatrick of Stanton and Earl Fitzpatrick of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. E.W. Ireland of Buffalo, N.Y., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Stone funeral home on East Washington street, Sunday afternoon, August 28, at 2:30 o’clock with interment in Balcom cemetery.
