She was born on May 9, 1929, at home in Orleans Township, Ionia County, the only daughter of Justin Mason and Deana May Auten Smith. Jessie graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1946. On July 2, 1951, she became the bride of Carl J. Anderson, the only love of her life. Jessie was employed at Gibson and Extruded Metals as the payroll clerk until her retirement. She was a fisherwoman all her life and truly enjoyed camping with her husband and summer travels with her family. In her lifetime she traveled to more than 36 states. Jesse and Carl were the parents to three children, Florence and Thomas Stewart, Justin and Carolyn Anderson, Ralph and Linda Anderson; grandparents to William and Stephanie Cole, Thomas and Tiffany Cole, Angela and Edward Hansen, Carl J. Anderson, Christina Howell, Tony Zanders, Elizabeth Ray and Mason Anderson; great-grandparents to Tara Lynn, Stacie, Amber, Andre, Thomas, Casey, Kaylee, Crystal and the newest member, Jack Edward Hansen. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is two hours before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Community Church.
